Krista's Stew

April, Krista, and Mom in Seattle at Pike's Place Market

2 Tbsp. butter or oil                        1 C carrots
2 onions chopped 1 C red Burgundy wine
1 lb. ground beef garlic
3 C (2 cans) beef stock 2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
6 C fresh tomatoes (or canned) 1/2 tsp. basil
2 C potatoes                                    1/4 tsp. thyme
1 C celery, diced 2 tsp. salt
1 C green beans (fresh or frozen)        1/2 tsp. pepper

Saute onion in oil.  Brown ground beef.  Add all ingredients except  potatoes, carrots, and green beans and cook for an hour.  Befor serving, add carrots, potatoes, and at the very end, the green beans.
